A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE THE ROLE OF RELIGION IN PEACEBUILDING

Join an interdisciplinary summer school hosted by three renowned theological faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

• Faculty of Islamic Sciences, University of Sarajevo
• Orthodox Theological Faculty of Saint Basil of Ostrog, University of East Sarajevo
• Catholic Theological Faculty, University of Sarajevo

This summer school offers a unique academic experience focused on the intersection of theology and peace studies. Led by esteemed professors from Catholic, Islamic, and Orthodox traditions, the programme delves into the theological and social dimensions of peace, interreligious dialogue, and reconciliation.

KEY PROGRAMME FEATURES:

• Learn from Distinguished Professors: Gain insights from experts in theology and peacebuilding, with lectures covering Christian and Islamic perspectives on peace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and contemporary issues.
• Excursions to Commemoration Sites: Explore key locations in Srebrenica, Jasenovac, Mostar and Banja Luka, offering rich historical context and encounter.
• Intercultural Environment: Enhance your understanding of interreligious dialogue in a diverse and multi-faith setting.
• Language of Instruction: English

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

Courses & Lectures

• Week 1: Focus on The Holy Scriptures, Peacebuilding in Religious Texts, and Forgiveness and Reconciliation from different theological perspectives.
• Week 2: Field trips to historical landmarks and memorial sites, culminating in a roundtable discussion. 

Interactive Learning: Participate in roundtable discussions, field trips, and other extracurricular activities designed to deepen your understanding of peacebuilding in interreligious contexts.

Certificate of Participation will be issued.

Tuition: 1,599 EUR (Includes tuition, accommodation, and meals)
