14.02.2025 Education Board convenes at Marburg University and welcomes new Chair

On January 30 and 31, 2025, the Education Board came together at Marburg University. Board members made use of this additional in-person meeting in between the EUPeace Autumn and Spring meetings to have productive discussions on current issues in EUPeace concerning curriculum development and education. Main topics included the current concept for the European Track, which is set to start in the fall of 2025, and the refinement of strategies for joint programmes. Education Board members also dedicated parts of the meeting to topics of teacher education, including a report on the first iteration of the EUPeace Winter School which took place earlier that same week right around the corner at Rauischholzhausen castle.
The Education Board Meeting in Marburg also offered the opportunity to welcome Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Students Affairs at the University of Sarajevo, as the new Chair of board. The first person to congratulate her on the new role was her predecessor in the role of the Chair, Kati Hannken-Illjes, Vice President for Education at Marburg University. Prof. Husremović and the other Education Board members thanked Prof. Hannken-Illjes for her guidance and dedication during her time as the inaugural Chair of the Education Board.
