04.03.2025 EUPeace expertise is represented at the International Peace Conference of the Aurora Alliance

From February 17-21, 2025, the Aurora University Alliance organized a conference on “The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding”. The EUPeace Alliance was represented at the conference by Eva Froneberg (Marburg University), Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić (University of Sarajevo) and Miriam Tekath (Marburg University) who shared their insights on Higher Education and Peacebuilding from research and practice: Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić was part of a Roundtable on “The Tripartite Mission of the University and Peacebuilding: Are Peace Hubs a Way Forward?” and also gave workshop on “What’s Involved in Setting up a Peace Hub?” on the basis of her expertise of setting up a Peace Hub at the University of Sarajevo. Eva Froneberg and Miriam Tekath presented insights from their PhD research on “Universities and Everyday Practices of Dealing with a Violent Past and Present” in a panel on the “Theory and Practice of Pedagogies of Peace and Peace Education”.
The Aurora International Peace Conference presented an important possibility for discussing these topics with international and highly renowned researchers and practitioners in the field of Higher Education and Peacebuilding. Furthermore, it also provided an opportunity for an inter-Alliance cooperation with the joint goal of fostering peace in and through University Alliances.
