28.02.2025 EUPeace External Advisory Board convenes to discuss strategic goals

The EUPeace External Advisory Board (EAB) held its first online meeting on 19 February 2025, to discuss the alliance’s objectives, member contributions, and future strategies. The meeting, chaired by Vice-Rector Elisa Aracil (Comillas Pontifical University), served as a platform for members to introduce themselves, share expertise, and outline expectations for their roles within the board.
On this occasion, members provided insights into how their backgrounds align with EUPeace’s mission. Olivera Simic (Griffith Law School) emphasised her multidisciplinary expertise in justice, peace, and gender studies, while Anthony Manning (University of Kent) highlighted the importance of internationalising curricula and fostering institutional engagement. Ernesto Exposito (Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour; UNITA - Universitas Montium) stressed the need for impact measurement, and Jonathan Bradley (European Center for Peace and Development) elaborated on the internationalisation of teacher education, mobility, and research hubs as key work areas.
The President of EUPeace Governing Board, Prof. Dr. Evelyn Korn (Marburg University), outlined the alliance’s mission to develop joint programmes and enhance teacher education, while also noting challenges such as aligning diverse educational standards. The importance of collaboration between educators and researchers was highlighted as a critical factor for the long-term success of EUPeace.
In coordination with the EUPeace Governing Board, Steering Committee and Monitoring Committee, the EAB will work to provide feedback on EUPeace’s flagship initiatives and deliver an annual report with recommendations to the Governing Board.
