28.11.2024 EUPeace: One Year of Advancing Peace, Justice, and Inclusive Societies

What an inspiring journey this first project-year of the European University Alliance EUPeace has been, full of collaboration, innovation, and impactful progress! Together, we have taken bold steps toward creating a more peaceful, just, and inclusive society, driven by a shared commitment to impactful education, ground-breaking research, and meaningful societal engagement.

Highlights of Our First Project-Year

Building a Strong Foundation: The formation of EUPeace marked the beginning of an alliance dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing challenges of our time. By uniting diverse institutions and talents, we have created a platform to advance peacebuilding through knowledge, dialogue, and action.

Research with Purpose: Our EUPeace Research Hubs have become vibrant spaces for tackling critical global issues such as security, conflict resolution, climate justice, and human rights. These hubs connect experts across disciplines, fostering innovative projects that transform academic knowledge into real-world impact.

Reimagining Education: EUPeace is redefining what it means to learn and teach in a global context. The EUPeace European Track will offer students unique opportunities to gain interdisciplinary insights with the aim of contributing to peace, justice, and inclusion. This joint curriculum will empower students to become leaders of change, equipped with the skills to address complex societal challenges. Another strong focus has been our efforts to Internationalise Teacher Education on the basis of our “School 4 All” concept. 

Growing Together as a Community: Collaboration has been at the heart of everything we do. Through strategic meetings, workshops, and events, our alliance has strengthened ties between academic staff, students, and local communities. These connections foster an inclusive and supportive environment where new ideas can thrive.

Knowledge Sharing and Innovation: From professional exchanges to impactful conferences, EUPeace has established itself as a vibrant hub for knowledge exchange. Our efforts in connecting academics, researchers, and students across institutions have laid a foundation for long-term collaboration and growth.

Launching New Initiatives: This year also saw the emergence of exciting projects:

• The EUPeace Student Association, designed to empower student-led initiatives and amplify their voices within the alliance, will be officially launched in a few days.
• The development of the Living Peace Lab, a platform for societal dialogue and innovative solutions.
• New structures and offices that ensure the alliance continues to adapt to the needs of its members and the broader community.
