At the end of June, Prof. Dr. Evelyn Korn, Chair of the Governing Board of EUPeace, and Alexandre Wipf, Secretary General of EUPeace met with representatives of the University of Calabria (Unical) in Rende, including its Rector, Professor Nicola Leone and the Rector's Delegate for EUPeace, Professor Luigi Boccia as well as the whole International Relations team. The visit offered an excellent opportunity to exchange extensively with all the academics of Unical involved in the different tasks and initiatives of the alliance, from mobility to the internationalisation of teacher training and the research hubs. During the visit, meetings were also organised with representatives of the Calabria Region, and of the Liceo Classico Bernardino Telesio, a classical high school in Cosenza to identify specific areas of cooperation in the coming months and years.

Early July, Prof. Dr. Evelyn Korn also met with the Comillas Pontifical University EUPeace coordination team, academic representatives of the work packages and Vice Rector Professor Paloma Bilbao in Madrid. A lot was to be discussed between an upcoming change in university leadership, intense activities in all work packages, and the upcoming meeting of Governing Board, Education Board, Steering Committee and – for the first time – EUPeace Senate, in September in Madrid. While both campuses of Comillas Pontifical University were a realm of calmness, with students already having entered their summer break, the work package teams used the chance to share activity reports as well as concerns and wishes with the Chair of the Governing Board. Broadened involvement of faculty members, as well as an overall roadmap for the rest of 2024 was discussed.

We are looking forward to more of these one-on-one site visits with Governing Board representatives and of the whole EUPeace Community.
