From 27-31 January 2025, JLU and UMR hosted the first EUPeace Winter School“ Teaching from/for/towards an EUPeace Perspective“ at Rauischholzhausen castle (Ebsdorfergrund, Germany); it was organised by the team leading our efforts to internationalise teacher education. Based on the joint School for All concept, that was published in 2024, the Winter School focused on one central question: How can we offer all students optimal learning conditions in light of their diversity?

The entire programme of the week was aimed at preparing (future) teachers from the EUPeace Alliance for the implementation of the School for All by addressing topics like inclusion, equity, intercultural education, or social justice, and by trying out creative methods like storytelling. During the week, pre-service and in-service teachers experienced the high value of international exchange – on a professional as well as personal level. This beneficial exchange will be continued and expanded during an online Summer School that will be hosted by the University of Sarajevo in autumn 2025.

Another important component of the implementation of a School for All is practical school experience at the locations of the EUPeace partner universities. Therefore, as part of the Winter School, a three-day meeting was held on the topic of internships in primary/secondary schools within the EUPeace Alliance. Fruitful discussions focused on general organisational questions as well as meaningful joint preparation of an international practical experience.
