Four EUPeace Alliance partners met at the University of Calabria (Italy) to kick off an exciting new academic project as part of the Second Call. The project is titled "COILING Inclusion: Towards LGBTQIA+ Intersectional teaching at European Universities." Led by Facultad de Derecho (Comillas Pontifical University ICADE), the project brings together three other partners: Marburg University (Germany), University of West Bohemia (Czech Republic), and Università della Calabria (Italy) to develop a series of online lectures around intersectional LGBTQIA+ content in different academic disciplines. The lectures will be announced through social media and made available online in the coming months. The project also involves a mapping of LGBTQIA+ content in academic teaching at the respective universities and will conclude with an academic journal publication on the challenges (and potential solutions) for integrating LGBTQIA+ content into university classrooms. The in-person meeting provided an opportunity to engage in meaningful and productive discussion about how to move this project forward, and also involved a meeting with local LGBTQIA+ rights organizations to better understand how we can counteract the growth of prejudice and hate around Europe.
