The EUPeace Dialogue “Strengthening European Values” taking place under the auspices of the Pilsen Region and hosted at the Pilsen House, in Brussels, Belgium on 25 March will welcome Professeur Hélène Pauliat for a keynote speech on "Les universités, promotrices des valeurs démocratiques européennes / Universities, promoters of European democratic values". Professeur Hélène Pauliat will draw on her rich expertise and vast experience in academia and in the judiciary to launch our Lunch Debate.
Professeur Hélène Pauliat is professor of public law at the University of Limoges (France) and a former member of the French High Judiciary Council. She has served as Deputy Director of the Mission de Recherche Droit et Justice, Junior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (2005-2010), Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences at the University of Limoges (2005-2010), Vice-President (2010-2012), and later President of the University of Limoges (2012-2016). She has also directed the research laboratory Observatory of Institutional and Legal Changes (OMIJ). Her scientific work primarily focuses on the administration of justice and the evaluation of its quality. She examines the very concept of justice administration, which is divided between a judicial authority recognised by the Constitution and a public service, the boundaries of which are debated among magistrates. She actively contributes to the preparation and organisation of conferences on justice (Association Les Entretiens d’Aguesseau) and public policies in Europe (Association EUROPA). She teaches general administrative law, public service law, civil service law, and the history of political ideas.
